Epitaph is an interactive fiction piece in which users explore their own thoughts and feelings regarding mortality in relation to human-computer interaction and attempts to find emerging cultural norms. In layman’s terms, Epitaph is a fictional piece that observes how people feel about what happens when someone dies and “leaves behind” their digital life, and tries to figure out what this means for American culture. It’s based on emerging research in a new field called “thanatosensitivity.”
